Noura Mint Seymali is widely regarded as the most prominent Mauritanian artist on the international scene. Backed by her long-standing ensemble, her powerful voice seamlessly blends the modal soundscapes of the Moorish Griot tradition with psychedelic guitars and pulsating rhythms. Her latest album, Yenbett (‘it grows’), reimagines traditional songs from Mauritania with an adventurous spirit. In recognition of her extraordinary work, she was honored with the prestigious WOMEX Artist Award in 2025.
