Ursula Winterauer aka Gischt lives and works as an experimental composer, electronic music producer and curator in Vienna. Her eclectic soundscapes deliver differentiated interpretations of the genres industrial, techno and ambient, which are reflected by means of bass guitar, synthesizer and electro-smog clouds. In her work she deals with raw and brutal sounds in digital overdetermination and contrasts these with the clear and human nature of her own voice used as an instrument.
She is taking part in the Slash Transition EU project. Nominated by Openspace, she will take part in the artist-in-residence programme at the partner organisation Trempo in Nantes, France, in November.
