KOSY POL

KOSY – four fascinating female voices, connected in songs from the region of Lower Silesia (Poland), where their lives crossed. They revive songs of their ancestors and bring them back to the soil of modern cities. They combine their own arrangements with traditional folk material accompanied by various instruments such as harmonium, hurdy-gurdy, frame drum, violin, viola, sansula and percussion.

In the last century, Lower Silesia was repeatedly forced by wars to reinvent itself. People came and went, brought their music with them, and borders shifted. These influences merged into one another and have contributed to a collection of songs that Kosy reinterprets with her very own instrumentation.
