The French-Italian duo ZOHASTRE creates a whirlwind of wild drums and bewitched electronics. Imagine a Silver Apples club-cut for Rephlex, or Black Pus jamming with Yamatsuka Eye. Héloïse and Olmo face each other, practicing hypnotic audio gestures, they synchronize waves and gusts to invoke the spirits of the woods and the ancient gods.

Like troubadours from outer space, ZOHASTRE ventures into an hallucinated quest – an ecstatic and psychedelic cavalcade. They unleash impro-ritualistic music for trance-like effects and reverse glitch dance moves. Their sound, both primitive and futuristic, obliquely references a wide array of noise, rock, and electronic approaches: free-wheeling UFO, IDM, Dinoavian squall, and foghorn drone versus delirious breakbeat pandemonium.

Experiencing ZOHASTRE is akin to stumbling upon a long-lost village nestled in the valleys. You peer from behind the trees at night, staring at a huge flaming fire, with villagers circling, all possessed by the incantatory power of the moon and fire.
